高額時給が言われて久しいシドニーです。その中物価高もまだ続いており緩やかに上がり続けています。その物価高に紛れて家賃も上がっており普通に生活するだけでも実は大変厳しい状況なのです。

このサイトによれば、2023年7月1日より最低時給が上がっています。
去年の最低時給は、$21.38($1.00=90円として1924.20円)でしたが今年の最低時給は、$23.23($1.00=90円として2090.70円)です。
時給だけみれば働く側からすれば嬉しい事ですが、物価高はもっとなのです。

高額時給の仕事が手に入ってしっかり稼げていても生活する上でどうしてもお金は使います。物価高なのでちょっとした買い物をしても思っている以上にお金がかかります。

で、ある時気がつくのです。

そこからいざ節約を始めても今まで使えてきたお金をセーブすることは結構難しいものです。私も経験ありますが、それなりの期間節約出来てもある日突然ドカンと使ってしまうものなのです。となると今までの苦労が報われません。心が折れる音が聞こえます。

多くの人々が高額時給を求めて世界中からシドニーに来ています。
その人達は今のシドニーしか知りません。その人達ですら高額時給だけど物価が高い、生活費にお金がかかり過ぎると言ってますし、私もそうですが周りにいる長年シドニーに住んでいる人たちもコロナ前と比べて今の方が物価高なだけに普通に生活するだけでもシンドいと感じています。
Many people come to Sydney from all over the world in search of high hourly wages.

高額時給 High hourly wage
シドニーの高額時給はニューサウスウェールズ州政府の公式発表で2023年7月1日から$23.23($1.00=90円として2090.70円)になっています。なので普通に仕事をしていれば思っている以上の給料が手に入ります。
Sydney’s high hourly wage is $23.23 ($1.00 = 90 yen, 2090.70 yen) from July 1, 2023, according to the official announcement of the NSW government. So when you work just normally, you can get more salary than you think.
例えば、
1日8時間1週間5日勤務として、
時給$23.23 X 8時間 = 1日の給料$185.84($1.00=90円として16725.60円))
1日の給料 $184.84 X 5日分 = $929.20
1週間の給料が、$929.20($1.00=90円として83628円)です。
ひと月4週間として、
1週間の給料 $928.20 X 4週間 = $3716.80($1.00=90円として334512円)
普通に1日8時間勤務として、それを1週間 5日勤務として、それをひと月行えば、$3716.80(約334512円)の給料になるのです。
ちなみに、時給計算なので要はバイトです。週5で1日8時間労働で330000円以上貰えるのです。
For exsample,
As a work day of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week,
Hourly wage $23.23 x 8 hours = daily salary $185.84 ($1.00 = 90 yen and 16725.60 yen))
Daily salary $184.84 X 5 days = $929.20
The weekly salary is $929.20 ($1.00 = 90 yen, 83628 yen).
As a month for 4 weeks,
1 week salary $928.20 X 4 weeks = $3716.80 ($1.00 = 90 yen and 334512 yen)
If you work 8 hours a day, work 5 days a week, and do it for a month, you will get a salary of $ 3716.80 (about 334512 yen).
ですがハッキリ言ってそんなに現実は都合よくありません。
But the reality is not so convenient.

まずコロナ前と比べて雇用数が少ないのです。これが高額時給に対する対策です。コロナ前と比べて雇用数が少ないことは一人当たりに求められる労働力が増えていることなのです。コロナ前と同じだけ雇用していれば物価高で高額時給のシドニーでは飲食店は生き残っていけません。今ある多くの飲食店はコロナを耐え抜いてきたところばかりです。耐え方を知っています。
First of all, the number of jobs is lower than before the COVID-19. This is a measure against high hourly wages. The fact that there are fewer jobs than before the pandemic means that the labor force required per person in all occupations is increasing. The restaurants will not survive in Sydney if somewhere hire same number staff before COVID-19.Many restaurants that exist now have only survived COVID-19,that they know how to endure.
それでもそんな内部事情など関係なしに多くの人々が高額時給を求めてシドニーに来ているのです。雇用主から見れば人材あまりまくりで選びたい放題なのです。なので都合よく週5で働けると思わないでください。
Still, many people come to Sydney for high hourly wages. From the employer’s view, they can choose with too much talent. So don’t think you can work 5 days a week conveniently.
求人サイトを見ても仕事はありますが仕事にありつけないのが現状です。雇用主も何かがあってからでは遅いのでそれに合わせた形で雇用しています。ということは1人当たりにかかる仕事量がコロナ前と比べて増えていて人あまり状態なシドニーなので、ひと1人に週5日で勤務するように雇いません。敢えて週4、週3とかで雇い、もう1人雇い調整しているのです。調整が上手くいけば人件費の割合が大きくなることはありません。

ではもっと働けるのにと思う人々は当然他を探すでしょうが他も同じなのです。上手く掛け持ち出来れば占めたもの。みんな同じ考えなので掛け持ちが出来る人と出来ない人が現れます。となると掛け持ちバイトが出来た人は良いができなかった人達は…
そんな人達が溢れているのが今のシドニーです。

Sydney is in a tough situation
仕事に有りつけない人達が大変多いのが今のシドニーです。

シドニーに限らず仕事は生活する上で必要な事です。仕事をして給料を得て日々生活している訳です。その仕事が無ければ生活は大変苦しくなります。自分の貯金を使うしかありません。貯金があればよいですが少ないと普通に生活することさえ難しいです。
We must need to work for life. Without that job, life would be very difficult. We have no choice to use our own savings if no job. It is good if you have enough savings, but if you have little, it is difficult to even live a normal life.
ここはシドニー。
困ったら都合よく誰かが助けてくれる訳ありません。自分でどうにかしなければなりません。
This is Sydney.
If you are in trouble, there is no way that anyone can help you. You have to do something by yourself.
仕事を探していて運良く直ぐに見つけれる人もいればなかなか見つけれない人も正直います。見つけるまでの期間が長ければ長いほど貯金がどんどん減っていきます。貯金が十分にあればよいですがそうでなければ悲惨です。
どの職種もコロナ前と比べて少ない人数で仕事をこなしています。今やそれが普通です。
To be honest, there are people who are looking for a job and who are easy to find it or not. The longer it takes to find it, you will lose your saving day and day. It would be nice if you had enough savings, but if not, it would be miserable.
All jobs are working with fewer people than before COVID-19. Now that’s normal.
その状態の中、世界中からシドニーに多くの人々が勉強するために、またワーキングホリデーでオーストラリアを楽しむために訪れています。
この人の流れのバランスの悪さから仕事よりも人の方が多く仕事にありつけれない人々が続出しているのです。
Many people from all over the world come to Sydney to study and enjoy Australia on a working holiday.
Due to this imbalance in the flow of people, there are more people than jobs. So many people who cannot find work.
そして仕事にありつけれない人々や見つけにくい方に共通して言えることは、こちらの状況を理解していないことと英語力が問われていることは確かです。
今のシドニーはコロナ前と違いどの職種も少ないスタッフで運営していますし英語がより身近にあるのです。
There is some reasons who can’t get a job or are hard to find. It is true that you do not understand this current situation in Sydney and your English skills are being tested.
English is more familiar and fewer staff in all occupations in Sydney.
営業中に入店してきて「仕事探しています」と言ってくるワーキングホリデーの人達が今は結構います。コロナ前であればそれはそれで行動力があり良いことだと思うのですが、今は少ない人数で何もかもが行われているのでこの行動はかえって損をします。その行動力があるのであれば、休憩中に電話するとかお店に入ってきて自己アピールを行うとか、メールで問い合わせ、等をして仕事探しする方が好印象です。
There are still quite a few working holiday people who come into the restaurants during trading hour and say, “I’m looking for a job.” I think it would be a good thing to have the ability to take action before COVID-19, but now everything is being done with a small number of people. If you have the ability to take action, it is better to look for a job by use phone, entering the restaurants to appeal to yourself during NOT trading hours, or making inquiries by e-mail.
そして英語がより身近になっており、コロナ前に比べて英語に触れる頻度が多いのです。
English is becoming more accessible, and we are exposed to English more often than before COVID-19.
日本食レストランのキッチン勤務を例にあげれば、コロナ前であれば日本人ばかりが働いており、職場内で英語を使うことは、ウエイトレスと会話するとかお客様との会話ぐらいでしたが、今は日本人以外の人達も日本食レストランのキッチンで働いています。この人たちはもちろん英語は出来ますが、日本語はほとんどわかりません。なので些細な作業でも英語でやり取りしなければならないのです。
Taking kitchen work at Japanese restaurant as an example, before COVID-19, there were only Japanese working in the kitchen , and the only way to use English in the workplace was to talk to waitresses or talk to customers, but now people who are not Japanese are also working in the Japanese restaurant kitchen section. Of course, these people can speak English, but they hardly understand Japanese. That’s why we have to communicate in English when we work.
物価高 High prices
物価高も止まりません。気がつけば色んな品が昨日と違う値段です。
私は日本がやはり気になるので日本のニュースを時々見ますが値上げに関してきちんと通知をしています。こちらでは殆ど値上げの通知はありません。
昨日買えた金額で今日同じモノが買えない。
もうこんなことは当たり前です。
緩やかな物価高は止まらない感じです。
Prices up are not going to stop. Various items are priced differently than yesterday.
This kind of thing is natural.
It seems that the moderate rise in prices will not stop.
人あまり状態 Too much people
世界中からシドニーの高額時給を求めて、またコロナも落ち着き人の動きがコロナ前に戻りつつある昨今。多くの人々がシドニーに来ています。ですが殆どの仕事がコロナ前と比べて雇用数が少ないのです。
それで社会がまわる、
各職種の各現場が何とかなることがわかってしまったのです。
ということは、人が余ります。
仕事よりも人が余っているのが今のシドニーです。
Recently, it is seeking Sydney’s high hourly wages in the world, and the movement of people is returning to pre-COVID-19. so Many people are coming to Sydney. However, most jobs are less employed than before the pandemic.
That’s how society turns,

家賃上がる Rent increases
物価高は何も日用品だけではありません。生活するためには住むところは必要不可欠です。つまり家賃が必要となります。
その家賃も上がっています。
The rise in prices is not limited to daily necessities. A place to live is essential for living. In other words, rent is required.
Its rent is also rising.
シドニーでは家賃の計算が1週間幾らで2週間分づつ支払う形が通常です。
つまり、1週間の家賃が$350.00だとすれば2週間で$700.00を支払うわけです。
In Sydney, the rent is usually calculated in one week and paid for two weeks.
In other words, if your rent for one week is $350.00, you will pay $700.00 for two weeks.
1週間の家賃が$50.00($1.00=90円として4500円)上がったなどは可愛いもので週$80.00($1.00=90円として7200円)から100.00($1.00=90円として9000円)ぐらい普通に上がっています。
The weekly rent has increased by $50.00 ($1.00 = 90 yen, 4500 yen), which is cute, and it has risen from $80.00 ($1.00 = 90 yen (7200 yen) to $100.00 ($1.00 = 90 yen, 9000 yen) per week is normal.
1週間の家賃がこれだけ上がればそれなりに稼がないともちません。
なので高額時給を受け取っていても家賃の支払いでどれだけ手元に残るのか?
家賃は目に見えて上がっているのです。
If the rent for one week goes up, you won’t have to earn anything.
So, even if you receive a high hourly wage, how much will you have left on hand after paying the rent?

生活出来ない Can’t live
家賃は上がる、日々の生活費も余計に必要。高額時給と言えども十分に働けない。となると収支のバランスは壊れます。
シドニーで生活出来なくなるのです。

We won’t be able to live in Sydney.
