Chatswood Street Fair
今年のチャッツウッドストリートフェア(Chatswood Street Fair)は、2023年9月2日(土曜日)午前10時から午後6時まで、チャッツウッド中心部(Chatswood Mall)で開催されます。
120以上の出店、イベントを彩るカラフルなパレード、盛り上がりこと間違い無しのエンターテイメントステージ、その他多くのアクティビティがあります。
This year’s Chatswood Street Fair will take place on 2nd (Saturday) , September,from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in central Chatswood Mall.
There are more than 120 stalls, colorful parades to decorate the event, an entertainment stage that is sure to be exciting, and much more.
Fine Food Australia Expo
9月11日(月曜日)から14日(木曜日)の間、ダーリングハーバーにあるICC Sydney (シドニー国際会議場)で行われるフードフェアです。
The food fair will take place from Thursday ,11th ,Monday, September to 14th Thursday, September at ICC Sydney (Sydney International Conference Centre) in Darling Harbour.

Whale Watching
シドニーでのホエールウォッチングの季節は6月～10月中旬と言われこの期間は沖合に出るとカナリ高い確率でクジラを見ることが出来ます。
多くのホエールウォッチングツアーがあります。
The whale watching season in Sydney is said to be June ~ mid-October, and during this period, if you go out offshore, you can see whales with a high probability.

またボンダイビーチ(Bondi Beach)からクージー(Coogee)にかけての海岸線沿いの遊歩道やマンリー(Manly)近くのノースヘッド展望台(North Head)までのウォーキングコース沿いからも見ることが出来ます。
It can also be seen from the boardwalk along the coastline from Bondi Beach to Coogee and along the walking trail to the North Head Lookout near Manly.

- Paddys Market
シドニー市内チャイナタウンにあるマーケット。庶民の味方。野菜や果物が安くて良い。
Paddys Market is a market in Sydney’s Chinatown. An ally of the common people. Vegetables and fruits are cheap and good.
- Paddington Market
こちらのマーケットはシドニー市内からバスでも行けますし徒歩でもいける場所にあります。毎週土曜日に行われており小洒落ています。
This market is within bus or walking distance from Sydney. It is held every Saturday and is fashionable.
- Carriageworks Farmers Market
産地直送の果物や野菜があります。また出店も多くマーケットならではのフードも楽しめてます。
There are fruits and vegetables directly from the production area and many stalls.You can enjoy food unique to the market.
- Manly Village Public School Markets
マンリービレッジスクールマーケットは、マンリー中心部にあり30年以上続いているマーケットです。小物、ビンテージアイテムに地元の工芸品を楽しむ事が出来ます。ビーチへのアクセスも良く晴れた日であれば、その日のうちにビーチ、マーケットと両方楽しめれます。
Manly Village School Market is a market in the heart of Manly that has been around for over 30 years. You can enjoy vintage items ,rare items and local crafts. If the beach is accessible and the day is sunny, you can enjoy both the beach and the market on the same day.
- Ryde Wharf Market
隔週日曜日に行われているマーケットです。パラマタ川のそばで行われるマーケットなので開放感が素晴らしいです。ただし午後2時には終わってしまうので訪れるのであればお早めに。
It is a market that is held every other Sunday. Since the market is held near the Parramatta River, the feeling of openness is wonderful. However, it ends at 2 pm, so if you want to visit, be early.
- Glebe Market
シドニーセントラル駅から徒歩15分程で行くことが出来るマーケットでしたが現在行われておりません。
It was a market that could be reached in about 15 minutes on foot from Sydney Central Station, but it is not currently held.
また期間限定や曜日指定がありますが夜市(ナイトマーケット)もあります。
There are limited time and days of the week, but there is also a night market (night market).
- Chinatown Night Market
毎週金曜日にチャイナタウンで開催しています。
It is held every Friday in Chinatown.
- Aussie Night Market
曜日により開催されるサバーブが違います。
The suburbs held differ depending on the day of the week.
- Paddys Night Market
昼にも同じ場所でマーケットが行われていて昼と夜の顔があるマーケット。
A market is held in the same place during the day, and there are day and night faces.
- Eastwood Night Market
アジア系ナイトマーケット。
ちょっと懐かしい感じがするマーケットです。
Asian night market.
It is a market with a little nostalgic feeling.
Father’s Day
日本では6月第3日曜日が父の日ですが、オーストラリアでは9月第1日曜日が父の日（Father’s Day）です。2023年は9月3日です。
この日は父の日には日本と同じようにオーストラリアでも感謝の気持ちをお父さんに伝える日です。
髭剃りやシェーバーなどお父さんが普段使っている日用品をプレゼントしたりDIYが出来る工具をプレゼントしたりすれば喜ばれると思いますが、シドニーならではのプレゼントもあったりします。
While in Australia the first Sunday in September is Father’s Day that is 3rd Sunday September 2023.The 3rd Sunday in June is Father’s day in Japan.
This is Father’s Day to express gratitude to fathers in Australia as well as in Japan.
I think it would be appreciated if you gave your father daily necessities such as shaving and shavers as gifts or DIY tools, but there are also gifts unique to Sydney.

ちなみに、オーストラリアの母の日（Mother’s Day）は日本と同じで5月第2日曜日です。
By the way, Mother’s Day in Australia is the same as Japan and is the second Sunday in May.
Fireworks
ダーリングハーバーでは毎週土曜日に花火が上がります。
無料で見れるのでコックルベイワーフ(Cockle Bay Wharf)やピアモント橋(Pyrmont Bridge)から見るとインスタ映えもします。
2023年9月は、2日、9日、16日、23日、30日午後8時30分から花火が上がります。
Darling Harbour hosts fireworks every Saturday.
It’s free to watch, so it’s Instagrammable when viewed from Cockle Bay Wharf and Pyrmont Bridge.
In September 2023, fireworks will go on from 8:30 p.m. on the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th.

シドニーハーバーブリッジやオペラハウスなど、シドニーにある歴史的なランドマークを眺めながらのマラソン大会です。
このシドニーマラソンは、現在6大会が加盟しているアボット・ワールドマラソン・メジャーズ（Abbot WMM)の正式候補レースになり、もし2025年までに正式なメンバーとして認められた場合、世界的に名誉あるボストンマラソン、ベルリンマラソン、ロンドンマラソン、ニューヨークマラソン、シカゴマラソン、そして東京マラソンに次いで7番目のマラソン大会になり、南半球初のアボット・ワールドマラソン・メジャーズの大会になります。
This marathon event takes in views of Sydney’s historic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
The Sydney Marathon will be an official candidate race for the Abbot World Marathon Majors (Abbot WMM), which currently has six members, and if recognized as an official member by 2025, it will be awarded the world’s prestigious Boston Marathon, Berlin Marathon, London Marathon, New York Marathon, Chicago Marathon and Tokyo Marathon. It will be the seventh marathon and the first Abbott World Marathon Majors event in the Southern Hemisphere.

Absolutely Queer
世界的LGBTQイベントであるマルディグラ（Mardi Gras)が毎年2月中旬から行われているシドニーです。そのQにあたるQueer(クィア）の展示会がシドニーパワーハウスミュージアム（Sydney Powerhouse Museum)で12月31日(日曜日）まで行われます。
Mardi Gras, is a global LGBTQ event, is held in Sydney every year from mid-February. so the Queer exhibition will be held at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum until Sunday, December 31.

10月になると、オペラハウス50周年記念イベントやサマータイムが始まります。

Daylight Saving と言えば、聞きなれかもしれませんが、サマータイムと言えばわかると思います。シドニーがあるニューサウスウェールズ州（NSW)は毎年10月第一日曜日から翌年4月第一日曜日の間行われております。
2023年は10月1日(日曜日)午前2時から行われます。
You may be familiar with Daylight Saving, but you know Daylight Saving time. In New South Wales (NSW), where Sydney is located, it is held from the first Sunday of October to the first Sunday of April each year.
The 2023 year will take place on 1st Sunday, October.

9月は春になるシドニーですが、意外とイベントが少ないです。
