7月の季節は冬で、1年で1番寒い月と言われています。
そんな冬のシドニーで行われるイベントをご紹介致します。

クリスマス Christmas in July
シドニーでは、7月にもクリスマスを祝います。
12月にも当然クリスマスはあり、盛り上がりますが季節的に夏になり北半球のようなホワイトクリスマスにはなりません。サマークリスマスです。ですがオーストラリアは南半球にあるため7月の季節は冬。季節が冬のだからこそ盛り上がるホワイトクリスマスをシドニーでも楽しめれるのです。
シティー周辺で言えば、ロックスがクリスマス仕様になりますし、ブルーマウンテンズまで行けば雪が見れるかもしれません。

バサーストウインターフェスティバル Bathurst Winter Festival
バサーストウィンターフェスティバル(Bathurst Winter Festival)は、7月1日(土曜日)から16日(日曜日)の間に行われます。
このフェスティバルは、バサースト中心にあるキングスパレード(Kings Parade)とマハティパーク(Machattie Park)の間で開催されます。
歴史的なバサーストの建物をみたり、アイススケートリンクが設置されていたり、家族で楽しめれるプレイグラウンドがあったり、ライブミュージックで雰囲気盛り上がったり、出店と共にフードイベントを楽しんだり、イルミネーションで街中飾られていたりと大変賑やかです。
The Bathurst Winter Festival takes place between Saturday, 1st of July to Sunday,16th of July.
The festival takes place between Kings Parade and Mahatie Park in the heart of Bathurst.
There were the historic Bathurst building, ice skating rink, a playground for families to enjoy, an atmosphere with live music, food events with stalls, and illuminations throughout the city.
スマッシュ Smash
マンガ、アニメファンによるファンのためのフェス。それがこのスマッシュ Smash です。
気軽にアニメを楽しんでいる人も、独自の世界観を持っているフィギュアコレクターも、みんな盛り上がります。
そして今回は日本からレジェンド声優、Toru Furuya が来ます。
そう、ガンダムシリーズでは、アムロレイ、名探偵コナンでは安室透の声を担当しているあの、古谷徹さんがシドニーに来ます!
記事にしていてびっくりです。
2023年は、7月1日(土曜日)と2日(日曜日)にICCシドニーで行われます。

Whether you’re casually enjoying anime or a figure collector who has their own unique worldview, everyone gets excited.
And this time the legendary voice actor Toru Furuya comes from Japan.
Yes, Toru Furuya, who voices Amuro Ray in the Gundam series and Toru Amuro in Detective Conan, is coming to Sydney!
In 2023, it will take place at ICC Sydney on Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2.

ボンダイフェスティバル Bondi Festival
シドニーにあるビーチの中で一番有名と言われているボンダイビーチで行われる冬のイベントです。ボンダイビーチを眺めながら楽しめれるアイススケートリンクに観覧者、そして屋台などが満喫できます。
沖合まで見ることが出来る観覧車に乗ってタイミングが良ければ、クジラを見ることが出来るかもしれません。
It is a winter event held at Bondi Beach, which is the most famous beach in Sydney. You can enjoy the ice skating rink while looking at Bondi Beach, visitors and food stalls.
If the timing is right for riding the Ferris wheel that allows you to see as far as offshore, you may be able to see whales.
ホエールウォッチング Whale Watching
毎年5月から11月にかけて南極から北上してくるザトウクジラがシドニー沖合を通ります。なのでその間Whale Watching(ホエールウォッチング)の季節でもあるのです。
特にボンダイからクージービーチに抜ける散歩道に当たる、Bondi to Coogee coastal track (ボンダイ トゥウ クージー コースタル トラック）を歩けば北へ向かうザトウクジラの姿を見ることが出来るかもしれません。
Every year from May to November, humpback whales migrate north from Antarctica and pass off the coast of Sydney. So it’s also Whale Watching season.
If you walk along the Bondi to Coogee coastal track, you may be able to see humpback whales heading north.
ホークスベリーウインターフェス Winterfest 2023 Hawkesbury
中世の騎士になって戦いを楽しめれるイベントです。
*Australian Medieval Combat (AMC)は中世の戦いを楽しむために、規律(Discipline)、チームワーク(Teamwork)、安全性(Safety)、尊敬(Respect)、誠実さ(Integrity)を基に結成されたスポーツ組織です。
そのAMCが監修してのイベント。
AMCから中世の戦士が戦いのために集まります。
This is an event where you can become a medieval knight and enjoy battles.
*The Australian Medieval Combat (AMC) is a sports organisation formed on discipline, teamwork, safety, respect and integrity to enjoy medieval warfare.
The event was supervised by AMC.
Medieval warriors from AMC gather for battle.
開催日 7月1日(土曜日)、2日(日曜日)午前10時から午後5時まで。
場所 Hawkesbury Showground
FIFA 女子サッカーワールドカップ FIFA Women Soccer World Cup
いよいよ始まる女子サッカーワールドカップ。なでしこジャパンの出陣です。アメリカのワールドカップ3連覇をどの国が阻止するのか？それとも3連覇してしまうのか？
今回は、オーストラリア、ニュージーランドの2カ国共催で行われます。
決勝戦はシドニーで行われます。
The Women’s Soccer World Cup begins. Which country will obstruct the United States at winning three consecutive World Cups? Or will they win three in a row?
Australia and New Zealand are co-host the event.
The final game will be played in Sydney.
私個人としては、先日発表されたメンバーに鰐淵さんが選ばれなかったことが驚きです。
ちなみに、なでしこジャパンは2011年に優勝しています。日本は、ワールドカップ優勝国なのです。
開催期間 2023年7月20日(木曜日)から8月20日(日曜日)まで。

シドニーラーメンフェスティバル Sydney Ramen Festival
6月17日(土曜日)から始まっているこのラーメンイベント。
シドニーにある多くのラーメン屋さんが参加しています。
こういったイベントが行われると日本食が根付いてきたのだと感じます。
This ramen event started on Saturday, 17th June.
Many ramen restaurants in Sydney participate.
I feel that Japan food is becoming more popular.
ラーメン1杯で1スタンプできるラーメンスタンプラリーです。
期間は6月17日(土曜日)から7月29日(土曜日)まで。アプリ 「Stamp Me」をダウンロードすれば誰でも参加できます。
以前私が訪れたラーメン屋さんも参加しています。
It is a ramen stamp rally that you can get one stamp for one bowl of ramen.
The period is from Saturday, 17th of June to Saturday,29th of July. Anyone can join by downloading the Stamp Me app.
タックスリターン Tax Return
オーストラリアの会計年度は7月1日から翌年6月30日までです。
なので今年の7月1日からは新年度になります。昨年度仕事をしていたのであれば雇用主がこの処理を行っているはずです。タックスリターンを行ってください。
The Australian fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
Therefore, it will be a new fiscal year from 1st of July this year. If you worked last year, make a tax return.
*タックスリターンとはいわゆる源泉徴収で、普通に働いていればそれなりの金額が受け取れます。長くこの国にいる予定であれば尚更処理はしておきましょう。そうでなくても処理は行ってください。
Tax return is a so-called withholding tax, and if you work normally, you can receive the amount.
スクールホリデー School Holiday
7月3日(月曜日)から14日(金曜日)の間がウインタースクールホリデー(Winter School Holiday)になります。
Winter School Holiday is start between Monday,3rd July to Friday,14th July.
注意して欲しい事 Precautions
季節は冬です。しかも7月が1年の中で1番寒い月と言われているシドニーです。
風邪を引かないよう体調管理をしっかりしてください。
いざイベントに行こうと思っても風邪を引いてしまえば最悪です。またインフルエンザとコロナが蔓延しているので手洗い、うがいは忘れずに。
The season is winter. Especially, July is the coldest month of the year. Please take good care of your physical condition. When you want to go to an any event, do not catch a cold. Also, influenza and COVID-19 are spreading, so don’t forget to wash your hands and gargle.

シドニー桜祭り Cherry Blossom Festival August
8月のシドニーの季節はまだ冬ですが、下旬になれば桜が咲き始めます。このCherry Blossom Festival(シドニー桜祭り)は、8月19日(土曜日)から8月27日(日曜日)までAuburn Botanic Gardens(オーバーン植物園)で行われます。
シドニーで花見が出来るとは。
開催期間 8月19日(土曜日)から27日(日曜日)午前 9時から午後5時まで。
The season in Sydney in August is still winter, but the cherry blossoms begin to bloom in late August. The Cherry Blossom Festival takes place at the Auburn Botanic Gardens from Saturday, 19th August to Sunday, 27th August.
You can see cherry blossoms in Sydney.
